Dr. James C. Thomas Picture

Dr. Jim Thomas has been practicing counseling in Vancouver for over eighteen years. He has worked in hospital settings, churches, and with private community counseling centers. His primary focus has been working with survivors of all types of trauma, especially from childhood. He has devoted much of his post graduate study to the study of trauma and its treatment; with a special focus on dissociative disorders. He is trained in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which has been shown to be particularly effective when working with trauma survivors. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Disassociation (ISSTD), and EMDRIA. Dr. Thomas received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University.
